When I put a line cord on an amplifier project I'm building it's going to be the Right Stuff. In modern times, the NFPA has updated the Electrical Rules to include a "Neutral," or Grounded Return Conductor on appliances with a separate Chassis or Frame Ground. In going for attachment to 240 v.a.c. this means a line cord with four wires: Red/Hot, Black/Hot, White/Neutral, Green/Ground. AND, and appropriate four prong plug. (I use Leviton Twist-Lock 6P-30/6R-30, 240 volt, 30 ampere connections. So the new line cords have got to be right. The only way to do it Full Bore is to use Type S/O 4-conductor, 10AWG cable and to use Chinese Finger Cuff Kellem cord grips on the appliance. And with transmitting equipment there is an Additional RF Ground and the best for that is Weld Type cable. This is why I shop at AC/DC Wire and Cable. I know what I need and they know what they have in stock. They ship the same day. They wrap wire up nice. They send it fast. I've been a customer there for years and will continue to be, no problem.
